The second season of the popular TLC show, "Little People, Big World," starts off with a recap of what happened during the previous season and since taping had stopped. Previews of the upcoming season lead me to believe that money seems to be less of an issue.

I think television has been good to the Roloff family, which is probably why they are doing a second season. The kids have grown and youngest Jacob is now taller than 'little' older brother Zach, which causes some turmoil between the two. Jeremy seems to have matured a bit and only girl Molly has blossomed into a young woman. We see pre-school teacher Amy in her glory with her students and the stress she carries around to try and run her household.

The season opens up with parents, Amy & Matt, taking the twins away to the beach for their 16th birthday with some friends. Molly is off to a church activity, which means Jacob has to tag along to the beach. Jacob has, what Amy calls, "Fourth Child Syndrome." At eight, Jacob is trying to act like the twins and getting into big trouble. With his troublesome behavior, Matt & Amy realize that Jacob must get more one-on-one time.

The second episode is Mother's Day and Matt is not sure how Amy will take his gift of a personal home organizer specialist. There is thought behind it...to make life easier for stressed-out Amy, but will she take it the wrong way? This year, the family decides to take Mom out for a really nice brunch and all present her with homemade cards. Jeremy writes a poem that tells Mom how he really feels, even though he is 16 and growing up. Amy smiles when she opens Matt's gift, but the process might be more than she can take right now.

Since the second season was taped during the summer, we'll see the family taking part in more activities off the farm. Upcoming episodes include a family vacation in Hawaii, a trip to the Little People Of America's national conference and the Dwarf Athletic Association of America games to name a few. There will also be a special double Thanksgiving episode.

"Little People, Big World" is one of TLC's brightest shows. While showing the outside world how 'little people' live, the Roloff's also show they are just like any other family. I'm glad the Roloff's let me into their lives. It's been a pleasure getting to know them.

Season Two of "Little People, Big World" premieres on TLC on Saturday, October 7th, 2006.
