The black-and-white footage features a man who certainly looks like Simmons having sex with a blond woman identified as a spokesmodel for Frank's Energy Drink. Simmons reportedly endorses the drink.

In a message posted on his web site on Wednesday, Simmons writes, "Hi everyone. You may have heard or seen garbage that has sprung up from my past. Rest assured the proper legal team is looking at all ramifications and options."

"And us? Shannon, Nick and Soph are happy and healthy. All is well."

"And thank you all for the kind words of support."

Simmons has always fostered a reputation for being a ladies man. He has claimed to have had sex with more than 4,600 women. At the same time, Simmons and longtime love, former Playboy model Shannon Tweed, have been a couple for over 20 years and have two children, 19-year-old Nicholas and 15-year-old Sophie. In interviews, Simmons has said his sexual behavior is not a problem with Tweed or their children.

While managing the KISS merchandising empire continues to be his primary focus, Simmons and his family are also starring in the A&E reality series "Gene Simmons Family Jewels," which returns for a new season in March.

Simmons was also a presenter at the 2007 AVN Adult Movie Awards, where he won the 'Golden Tongue Award.'
