The history of television is filled with mothers who are kind, compassionate
and nurturing. From "Leave It To Beaver" to "The Gilmore
Girls," these moms are the type of authority figures that everyone
wishes they had growing up.
But then there is what I like to describe as the "Dina Lohan"
category of TV moms. The ones that are liars, cheats, drunks and psychos.
The types of mothers that might be fun to watch from afar, but you would
never want to be trapped in an elevator with unless you were toting a
can of mace and some earplugs.
Here are a few of my favorite bad TV moms. It's impossible to rank them
in any particular order, since each mom is terrible in their own special
way.
Peg Bundy ("Married With Children")
She's vain, she's loud and she's angry. Her children annoy her and she
would rather be touched by a two-day old squid than her husband. If Peg
Bundy isn't the worst TV mom ever, she's definately on the short list.

Wilma Flintstone ("The Flintstones")
Sure, Wilma might seem like an odd choice at first glance. But did you
ever notice how many times she left Pebbles alone with Dino? I'm afraid
to leave my toddler alone with a stick, and she's leaving her kid home
alone with a hyperactive baby dinosaur.
Marie Barone ("Everybody Loves Raymond")
Marie is the polar opposite of Peg Bundy. Marie loves waaay too much.
And she does it in a grating, clinging manner that makes you wonder how
her sons ever found a date, much less a wife.
