Biography: In addition to receiving a Daytime Emmy Award for Lifetime Achievement, Bob Barker has won a record-breaking 11 Daytime Emmys as Outstanding Game Show Host for THE PRICE IS RIGHT, including one in 2000. As the show's executive producer, he has received two additional Emmys for Outstanding Game/Audience Participation Show.

Barker has hosted THE PRICE IS RIGHT since its premiere on the CBS Television Network in 1972. During his first three years on the show, he was also hosting his 16th through 18th seasons of "Truth or Consequences." This year marks his 45th on network television and the 30th consecutive season of THE PRICE IS RIGHT on CBS.

In March 1998, historic Stage 33 at CBS Television City in Los Angeles, from which many legendary television shows were broadcast and where THE PRICE IS RIGHT is taped, was renamed the Bob Barker Studio.

Barker was born in Darrington, Wash., and raised on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota, where his widowed mother taught school. After serving as a Navy pilot during World War II, he was graduated from Drury College in Springfield, Mo., and worked in radio there and in Florida before moving to Los Angeles, where Ralph Edwards hired him for "Truth or Consequences" in 1956.

He served as master of ceremonies for the "Miss Universe Pageant" and "Miss USA Pageant" for 20 years and has hosted the "Tournament of Roses Parade," all on the Network.

He made his theatrical motion picture debut in the comedy "Happy Gilmore."

Barker lives in Los Angeles. His birth date is December 12th.
