Bio:
A graduate of Colorado College, Matt Springer currently resides
in Eugene, Oregon, where he works with families in conflict at
a homeless and at-risk youth shelter.
Matt is a
lifelong athlete who captained his high school teams of swimming,
track and field, and rugby when attending The American School
in London. After moving back to the United States to attend college,
Matt shifted his athletic focus to football. By his senior year
he was a collegiate football player and captain of the Colorado
College NCAA Division III football team. A move to Switzerland
after college graduation found him playing professional football
as captain of the Gladiators.
Matt has
taught sixth grade students in outdoor subjects including desert
ecology and rock-climbing. Through his work as a crew leader with
the Northwest Youth Corps, Matt has led groups of teenagers through
five-week backwoods conservation projects. He has also worked
as a television producer with Adrenaline TV, where he researched,
coordinated and filmed extreme sporting events and tours for syndicated
television broadcast. Matt describes himself as positive, a fireball
and unrelenting.
