Biography: Alexis Conran, star of Discovery Channel’s Man v Expert, has turned the world of scamming into a massively entertaining art form. You don't want to play cards with this guy...

Born in Paris but raised in Athens, Alexis came to London aged 16 to study acting. After graduating from LAMDA and pursuing a career on stage and screen, he followed a curious desire to learn the art of magic. Within three years, he was working as a professional magician specialising in card cheating, and was performing at exotic, celebrity-fuelled private parties worldwide.

In 2003, Alexis was part of a team advising the writers and actors on the hit BBC TV series Hustle, before going on to write and star in the flagship BBC3 follow-up series The Real Hustle.

In 2007 he was part of a magic special for BBC1, Don't Miss a Trick, and since 2010 has been extensively involved as a consultant producer from the very early stages on both series of The Magicians, Derren Brown: The Great Art Robbery, Discovery Channel's Breaking Magic, and Troy. He also devised, wrote and presented Gambling Addiction and Me: The Real Hustler for the BBC.

Most recently, Alexis starred in Discovery Channel’s Mind Control Freaks, which was broadcast to over 220 countries around the world.
