10 Things I Learned From Watching The Pilot Of 'Extant'

The new high profile CBS drama "Extant" premieres on Wednesday and with names such as Halle Berry and Stephen Speilberg part of the project, watching it should be learning experience. And based on the pilot, it is.
Here are ten things I learned from watching the pilot of "Extant:"
1) If you are on a space station by yourself and your dead ex-husband knocks on the hatch and wants to come in...say no.
2) Based on the relationship between Molly Woods (Berry) and her husband, being married to Halle Berry is a lot less exciting than I would have predicted.
3) I suspect those see-through iPads aren't as much fun to use when you spend all day trying to read text while staring at your pants legs.
4) If someone asks a robot's creator "What is your plan of action if your creation goes nuts?," you can be sure that the robot will soon be going nuts.
5) In the future friendships are so strong that you're able to convince your friend to hide news like "Hey, you're pregnant even though you were alone for 13 months" by simply reminding them that they're your friend.
6) Apparently "Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics" doesn't apply to birds.
7) Don't go near the trash cans.
8) While I'm not sure about the best way to convince someone to give me funding, calling them an idiot for believing people have a soul probably isn't the best way to close the deal.
9) Thankfully, CBS decided not to sprinkle the episode with hashtags for viewers to tweet, like #spacepregnancy and #donttrustanyone.
10) One thing that hasn't changed in the future: all rich Asian men are soft-spoke, mysterious.......and evil.
