Our Six Dream 'Walking Dead' Crossover Events

In theory, crossover TV events should be a lot of fun. There's a chance to see favorite characters interact and observe how the events in very different shows can fit together in surprising ways. But because of network conflicts and production company nervousness, most modern-day crossover events are modest events. Were even fans of NCIS thrilled by the prospect of a crossover with NCIS: LOS ANGELES? The same for crossover events that involve cast members from the dozen or so Dick Wolf-produced NBC dramas set in Chicago.
THE WALKING DEAD companion series FEAR THE WALKING DEAD premieres on Sunday and I think it's fair to say that most people who have seen the first couple of episodes (myself included) are ambivalent about the show so far. Aside from my wish that AMC would have done an anthology series instead, the biggest problem with FEAR is the sense that it's not as imaginative as you might expect to see from such a talented group of writers and producers.
I was on a radio show earlier in the week and a discussion of FEAR THE WALKING DEAD turned to crossovers. What TV show would you like to see do a crossover event with THE WALKING DEAD?
Here are my six choices and these are simply my dream crossovers. Yes, none of them will ever happen and I realize the shows are on different networks, etc. These are just fanciful choices, based on which shows I think would be the most fun to watch in a crossover event.
THE BIG BANG THEORY
Yes, this is a comedy. But is any cast of characters on television better suited to dealing with a post-apocalyptic zombie-infested world? They already know the "you must shoot zombies in the head" rule and Leonard, Sheldon, Howard and Raj could come up with some fiendishly odd ways to survive the chaos of a flesh-eating big city population. Plus, watching Sheldon try and deal with a world where there is no Internet or running water would be enough to fill an entire hour just by itself.
PERSON OF INTEREST
Aside from the fact that Reese might be the baddest person on broadcast television, the entire team is already battling with the challenges of surviving a life-and-death environment. The other interesting twist in this is the cyber portion of the story. How does an artificial intelligence survive when the civilized world is collapsing around it?
DINERS, DRIVE-INS AND DIVES
Okay, there's no real potential for a story here. I just like the idea of watching Guy Fieri being consumed by zombies.
THE LAST ALASKANS
This is one of those scenarios that I'd explore in a WALKING DEAD anthology series. How do zombies thrive in below-zero temperatures? In this case, you have a show about people who are comfortable living alone even in the best of times. So the story is less about their ability to survive society's collapse than the challenges of dealing with the desperate remnants of the "civilized" outside world.
BONES
Certainly Booth, Brennan and everyone else are capable of surviving the onset of the new zombie world. The big challenge for them is the aspect of how you survive. At some point, you have to learn the difficult skill of turning your back on others who are weaker or less capable of surviving this harsh new world. Can Booth and Brennan develop that hardness that Rick has learned to cultivate over the years?
AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.
The downside for this scenario is that Phil Coulson and his surviving band of agents were already dealing with a lot of apocalyptic problems even before the arrival of the zombies. And the cool S.H.I.E.L.D. tech won't help much once the power grid collapses. But this is also one of the groups that might be able to establish some sort of viable government presence in the remnants of a ravaged society.
