5 Best Lines: 'Perfect Harmony' - 09/26/2019
In the premiere episode of "Perfect Harmony" when former Princeton music professor Arthur Cochran unexpectedly stumbles into choir practice at a small-town church, he finds a group of singers that are out of tune in more ways than one. Despite the ultimate clash of sensibilities, Arthur and his newfound cohorts may just be the perfect mix of individuals to help each other reinvent and rediscover a little happiness, just when they all need it most.
Here are the five best lines from the episode:
"You've heard of vowels? They're the thing Pat Sajak makes you pay for."
--Arthur's (Bradley Whitford) extremely delicate criticism of Wayne's (Will Greenberg) enunciation
"This is a generation of delicate snowflakes and terrible chair duckers."
--Arthur's explanation of why he was fired from his job at Princeton, which included throwing chairs at students
"Don't be mean. Dwayne has a lot of qualities that Darth Vader does not have. Like a human face."
--Ginny's (Anna Camp) defense of Dwayne's speaking voice, which Arthur claims sounds like 'Darth Vader swallowed Mustafa'
"Well, you do have sarcasm here. What's next, bagels?"
--Apparently, Arthur is warming up to Kentucky. And Ginny.
"I knew you'd be back. I said 'let's surprise him with a mash-up like in the TV show about Glee clubs called Being Gay Makes High School Hard.'"
--Turns out that Reverend Jax (Rizwan Manji) was homeschooled in a house where they gave more straight-forward titles to all the movies & TV shows they watched
