A Chris Brown High-Speed Car Chase? Actually. No.
News - Latest
Not Chris Brown
Los Angeles is the center for long-drawn out televised car chases, especially since O.J. Simpson's infamous white Bronco semi-escape more than a decade ago.

But few chases have been more surreal than Monday evening's three-hour plus televised slow-speed chase, which many viewers thought at one point might have involved R&B singer Chris Brown.

Brown skipped Sunday's Grammys after he turned himself into police following allegations of assault. While the victim hasn't been officially identified, it's thought that she is singer Rihanna, who is Brown's long-time girlfriend.

Somehow that event morphed into Monday's night police chase involving a white Bentley with Illinois plates.

The chase began in North Hollywood, California at 8:00 pm on Monday and continues as I write this. The car is currently parked in Universal City, surrounded by law enforcement. The driver is said to be armed and dangerous. A crowd estimated to be of more than 100 people is on the scene.

What's interesting about the chase is that until the car was pulled into the parking lot, many in the news media apparently believed the car's driver might be Chris Brown. No one stated the fact outright, but many of the TV reporters danced around the fact, simply stating the driver might be "a celebrity," or a "well-known singer with recent legal problems."

As it turns out, the identity of the driver has now been identified by several news organizations as DJ Khaled, a Miami-based rapper.
