| Synopsis: When Dianne Parker (Williams)
marries Mark McCune (Close), their lives couldn't be more perfect. They
are young and in love and the world is truly their oyster. But, fate intervenes
when it is revealed that Dianne is pregnant with a child who will be born
with multiple disabilities. Dianne is determined to have the child, but
Mark runs away, unable to face what will certainly be a difficult situation.
Challenging though the condition of young Julia (Amanda and Caitlin
Fein) is, Dianne loves her child dearly, as does her mother, Hannah
(Brown), and Mark's brother, David (Scott), the child's pediatrician.
David, unbeknownst to Dianne, has carried a torch for her for a long
time and, in his quiet, down-to-earth manner, is always there for her
and the child.
Hannah realizes that David is in love with Dianne and tries to get
them together, but Dianne strongly resists her mother's efforts and,
though she will not admit it, still holds out hope that Mark may come
around. After an accident lands her in the hospital for observation,
Dianne has a chance to see Mark's true colors when he returns for the
first time. Mark's presence forces Dianne and David to deal with their
long-buried emotions about him as well as their own relationship.
