Synopsis:
In
this modern take on a classic tale, Snow White's mother dies during
childbirth, leaving baby Snow and her father, John (Tom Irwin),
alone and starving on the icy winter plains. Wandering and delirious,
John is visited by The Green-Eyed One (Clancy Brown), a satanic
messenger who offers him three wishes. John's disoriented desire
for home and family are granted -- but with frightening results.
John is anointed
King but falls victim to the deceptively beautiful, evil Queen
Elspeth (Miranda Richardson, "Merlin," "Alice in Wonderland"),
Snow White's cunning stepmother, whose natural form until recently
was that of a repulsive witch. Her malevolent majesty's obsession
with maintaining her status as "fairest of them all" causes her
to repeatedly seek reassurance from her towering hall of mirrors.
But as Snow White's growing beauty surpasses that of her stepmother,
the queen's jealousy becomes a deadly threat to the young lady
fair and anyone who befriends her.
