FANS OF THE HIT CBS DRAMA "TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL" CAN CAST THEIR VOTES ON CBS.COM FOR THEIR ALL-TIME FAVORITE EPISODES

Leading Vote-Getting Episodes Will Be Broadcast on Aug. 25 and Aug. 26

"Touched By An Angel" Begins Its Eighth Season Sept. 22 In a New Time Period, Saturdays at 8:00 PM

NEW YORK, August 10th, 2001-- Fans of the hit CBS drama series TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL will have an opportunity to cast their votes for their favorite episode of the heartwarming series, which begins its eighth season Sept. 22 in a new time period, Saturdays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Beginning Sunday, Aug. 12, viewers can log on to CBS.com and choose from five of the most popular TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL episodes broadcast during the past seven years. The two leading vote-getters will be rebroadcast during "Viewers Favorites Weekend," Saturday, Aug. 25 and Sunday, Aug. 26 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT, each night). Voting will be open through Aug. 24.

"Viewers Favorites Weekend" is a thank you to the series fans, giving them a chance to play network programmers. Following are the five episodes from which viewers may choose the episodes to be broadcast.

"Tough Love" -- Guest Star Phylicia Rashad portrays an award-winning journalist and author who is slowly self-destructing. The angels intervene when a drunken accident almost kills the writer's granddaughter. In a classic TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL moment, Monica literally walks through fire to save the little girl.

"Reunion" -- Natalie Cole guest stars as a woman who finds love again when she reconnects with her high school sweetheart who now wants to marry her. The challenge: she's HIV positive. Maya Angelou also guest stars in the episode, which is based on a true story.

"Jacob's Ladder" -- Monica is arrested when she is found with a bag of crack cocaine in her hands and gives vague answers about her identity. The police have no choice but to send her to a psychiatric hospital, where she finds Claire, an angel in need of help. TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL star Roma Downey's performance in the episode has been cited as her most dramatic in the seven-year history of the series. Cindy Williams, Barbara Mandrell, Paul Winfield, Joe Morton and Wanda de Jesus guest star in the episode, which keeps viewers guessing until the end.

"Psalm 151" -- A young boy with cystic fibrosis has a list of things he wants to accomplish before he dies, and his best friend is determined to help him complete everything on the list. He also has a plan to fulfill his friend's wishes and orchestrates a trip for her to visit her hero, Celine Dion (guest starring as herself), at a nearby concert. The angels help a miracle occur when the boy's mother, played by guest star Wynonna Judd, is finally able to write the song she has been struggling to compose ("Testify to Love," which she sings) just as her little boy succumbs to his illness.

"Life Before Death" -- Monica returns to her beloved homeland, Ireland, in this poignant episode that features a brilliant guest cast of young Irish actors. The episode, introduced by actor Liam Neeson, opens our eyes to the ongoing conflict in this beautiful country and opens our hearts to hope that peace may ultimately reign there.

TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL stars Roma Downey, Della Reese and John Dye -- as well as Valerie Bertinelli, who recently joined the cast as newly created angel Gloria. Martha Williamson is the executive producer.
