July 3rd, 2001-New
York-- LIFETIME Television finished second quarter 2001 ##1 in primetime

remained on top, delivering a 1.9 household rating (1,497,000 homes)
in primetime for the quarter. LIFETIME garnered a strong 12% primetime

Lifetime posted a 1.2 (969,000 homes) for second quarter 2001, up
9% over last year (1.1). Lifetime continues to be ## 1 in key female

"We are

"said Tim Brooks, Senior Vice President, Research, LIFETIME

months of ratings growth in total day and nine straight months of
prime time ratings growth, which speaks to the growing strength
of the Lifetime brand."
Added Brooks,
"Lifetime's strength has also fueled ratings success for Lifetime
Movie Network, which for the first time ever ranked among the top
ten basic cable networks in prime time coverage area ratings, during
the first week in June."
Lifetime continued
its strong monthly ratings performance in June ranked ##1 in primetime,
tied with USA. In addition to June marking the Network's 23rd consecutive
month of total day household ratings growth and the ninth straight
month of primetime ratings growth, Lifetime earned its highest June
ever with a 1.9 primetime household rating (1,525,000 homes) and
a 1.2 total day household rating (1,004,000 homes).
Contributing
to the stellar quarterly ratings were Lifetime's Original Movies,
which averaged a 3.8 household rating, a solid 36% increase over
last year. In second quarter, Lifetime celebrated its 100th Original
Movie "Midwives" starring Sissy Spacek, which earned a
4.8 household rating (3,865,000 homes) for its premiere in April.
Also, fueling the ratings success are Lifetime's original Sunday

on basic cable. In addition, Lifetime's original series Intimate
Portraits launched its new season in June and posted a 13% increase
over last year.
