Synopsis: A new unscripted drama series from the creative force behind the Emmy Award-winning series Survivor, THE CASINO will provide an extraordinary 24/7, behind-the-scenes look at the real-life drama unfolding at the Golden Nugget Las Vegas, Hotel and Casino, as its new owners attempt to bring back the glory of its “Rat Pack” heyday.

Like a giant magnet in the middle of the desert, Las Vegas attracts people from all over the world with two things on their mind -- getting rich quick and having as much fun as possible in a short period of time. The lure of Las Vegas will be captured on camera and serve as a backdrop to the story of two young entrepreneurs who found remarkable success during the Internet boom and are now living out their dreams of owning and renovating a hotel and casino. The series will offer a unique and unprecedented insight as the two take a seat at the table of the world’s most exciting business, by taking over one of the most legendary casinos in history, the Golden Nugget.

At the center of the story will be these two entrepreneurs, Timothy Poster and Thomas Breitling, whose start-up “Travelscape.com” revolutionized the travel industry. The company’s sale to Expedia in 2000 made the pair multimillionaires, and Breitling and Poster have used some of their fortunes to fulfill a life-long dream by purchasing the Golden Nugget on historic Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas. The two are now betting that they can revitalize this landmark casino, built in 1946, and return the luster that once made it one of the hottest places in Las Vegas.

Conceived by Burnett and production partner Conrad Riggs, THE CASINO will go beyond the challenges facing Breitling and Poster to explore the personal dramas unfolding among some of the 3,000 employees inside this world – from cocktail waitresses and entertainers, to blackjack dealers and pit bosses, to security and management. Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, this real-life cast of characters runs an elaborate high-stakes operation that caters to visitors from around the world seeking the thrill and excitement of Las Vegas.
