| Synopsis: When you're a young ex-commando
from the British Special Forces, how can you channel the thrill of combat
into your next career? How about defending your life against three Beverly
Hills rich kids? That's exactly what happened to mega-producer Mark Burnett
("Survivor," "The Apprentice") when he first ventured from the British
Army Parachute Regiment to the West Coast. Now, Burnett brings his unique
experience to The WB in the new comedy "Commando Nanny." Meet Miles Ross (Owain Yeoman, "Troy"), the young commando whose new barracks are the guest room of a Beverly Hills mansion. At first, tycoon Ben Winter (Gerald McRaney, "Major Dad") balks at hiring the young soldier, but Ben's new wife, Lizzie (Kristin Datillo, "The Office," "The Chris Issak Show"), sees promise in Miles and convinces her husband to hire him for a challenging new mission: monitoring their son, Seth (Max Wolf Burkholder, "Daddy Daycare"), a 5 year old in desperate need of attention. Engaging Miles in a daily test of wills are Ben and his two older children, Katie (Beatrice Rosen, "Chasing Liberty") and Steven (newcomer Ricky Mabe). Ben has found success in life by following his gut, and his gut is telling him that hiring a good-looking 22-year-old nanny is a mistake. Katie is a very smart, self-assured teenager who flirts with Miles, all the while secretly plotting with her surly, rebellious brother to drive the new recruit AWOL. Steven, for his part, is the one person who finds it humorous that a former commando has become the family nanny, knowing it's just par for the course in the insanity of Beverly Hills. Running interference in the ongoing hostilities between Miles and Ben soon becomes the full-time job of Ben's wife, Lizzie, who only wants what's best for her family. She has real affection for all of them, especially her new teenage stepchildren, even though they usually fail to appreciate it. She is also the first to realize the value of the kind and nurturing relationship Miles is forming with Seth. Giving Miles the occasional reality check is his best friend, Nick (British stage actor Adam Campbell), a witty and girl-crazy fellow Brit. From the bunkers to the bunk beds of Beverly Hills, Miles is going to be in for a tough assignment, but at least Nick is there to remind him that the rest of the world isn't like the Winters' weird and wealthy household.
