Synopsis:
Academy Award winner Richard Dreyfuss ("The Goodbye Girl") makes
his television drama series debut as a college history professor
whose life is at a crossroads when, among other things, he is passed
over for a long-overdue promotion at the all-women's college where
he teaches. The job is given instead to Andrea Haskell, one of his
former students, who has now surpassed her mentor in academic achievement.
To
make matters worse, his old friend Judith Hackett Bryant, president
of the college, has endorsed this decision. And making things even
more challenging is the fact that Max's best friend, Steve, has
returned as Erica after a sex-change operation. These days, Max's
joy comes from spending time with his 11-year-old son, Lester, an
aspiring basketball star.More
challenging is his relationship with his teenage daughter, Nell,
a freshman at the college.
Now,
everything and everyone is up for reexamination in Max's life.
