Guide: The Good Life
Synopsis:
How happy was Larry Hagman that Dallas was a success? The
Good Life was the project he did between I Dream Of Jeannie
and Dallas, and no matter how you look at it, this is one
horrific premise.
Albert
and Jane Miller (Larry Hagman and Donna Mills) have had it with
the aggravations and responsibilities of middle-class life. So,
he chucks his stockbroker's job, they sell their house and car,
and they take jobs as "experienced" butler and cook on
the Dutton estate.
With
this posh job (and as we all know, nothing is more relaxing than
being a personal servant), the couple can enjoy the swimming ppol,
tennis courts, Bentley, Ferrari and sumptuous living quarters--as
long as easygoing Charles Dutton (David Wayne) and his sister (Hermione
Baddeley) don't realize they can't do the job.
Since
it's the Seventies, producers HAD to add the token hippie into the
mix. This one, Charles' hippie son (Danny Goodman)befriends the
couple and helps them continue their charade.
