Synopsis: History has seen many great philosophers espouse the
virtues of man. Machiavelli...Nietzsche...and now Henson! John Henson
brings his signature, irreverent humor to Spike TV with a new original,
weekly half-hour series, The John Henson Project, on Sunday, January
11 (10:00-10:30pm ET/PT).
John will provide his comedic contemporary commentary on everything
from current events, sports, pop culture and lifestyle through a guy's
perspective.
"John Henson brings a fresh, creative voice to Spike TV," said Albie
Hecht, President, Spike TV. "His humor is topical, progressive and he'll
address what guys are really talking about in barbershops, ballgames,
and locker rooms across the country."
Each episode includes witty and often sardonic segments and comedic
bits that speak directly to Spike TV's audience. John will also hit
the streets to find the places and people that guys will want to get
to know.
Among the occasional featured segments on The John Henson Project include:
· "Can I Kick His Ass?" - John decides what celebrities he could beat
up and by what means he could accomplish such a task. Clay Aiken: Yes.
Suge Knight: No.
· "Man of the Week" - John honors the dubious achievements of everyday
guys who accomplish the seemingly impossible and often absurd.
· "What Were They Thinking?" - John will highlight things in the world
that just don't make any sense.
· "Prime Time Crime" - Shoplifters, jaywalkers, and tax-evaders need
not apply. But John will spotlight moronic illegal acts ranging from
the inept bank robbers to bumbling peeping toms.
John Henson is best known as former host, writer and co-executive producer
of the Emmy-award winning "Talk Soup" on E! Entertainment Television
- one of E!'s highest rated series.
The John Henson Project will be taped each week in Los Angeles.
