A Conversation With David Childs--06/27/2004
Roger Mudd sits down with David Childs, lead design partner with Skidmore,
Owings, and Merrill, one of America's top architectural firms. Childs
is in charge of designing the world's tallest--and perhaps most controversial--building,
The Freedom Tower at the World Trade Center site. Childs, whose career
includes working on public projects like the Washington Mall, and in
New York, where his modernist skyscrapers include the Time-Warner Center,
reflects on the intersection of politics and architecture.
