Synopsis: Are you single and tired of the dating scene? Do you
dread another Saturday night as "the third wheel?" Do you believe that
your Mr. or Mrs. Right is out there somewhere, but you just haven't
found him or her yet? Find out who is willing to take a once-in-a-lifetime
chance to change their future and meet the person of their dreams on
MARRIED BY AMERICA, the new, unscripted reality series from the creators
of the hit series "Joe Millionaire."
This innovative and groundbreaking series follows two single men and
two single women who put their trust in the American viewing public
to play matchmaker. These men and women and their potential mates are
successful in every aspect of their lives but have been unsuccessful
at meeting that special someone by conventional means.
With the help of relationship experts, five potential mates will be
handpicked for each of these men and women. Their friends and family
will meet each of these potential partners, discuss their lives, interests
and intentions and winnow them down. Meanwhile, the home audience will
be given the opportunity to weigh in and vote by phone to make the final
decision as to which of these partners is the perfect match. Once face-to-face,
these new couples will embark on a journey toward matrimony in hopes
that they have indeed found their one true love.
The five featured singles are:
Billie Jeanne, 27, an artist currently living in New York City
Jill, 25, a New York Islanders arena hostess and announcer from Holtsville,
Long Island
Jennifer, 27, a commercial real estate agent living in Atlanta, Georgia
Stephen, 35, a restauranteur from New York City
Matt, 26, who works in broadcast promotions in Atlanta, Georgia
These men and women and their potential spouses are successful in
every aspect of their lives, except at finding a mate by conventional
means. With the help of relationship experts, five potential mates will
be handpicked for each of them. Their friends and family will analyze
each potential partner, discuss their lives, interests and intentions
and winnow them down. Then, the home audience will be given the opportunity
to vote by phone to make the final decision as to which of these partners
is the perfect match. Once face-to-face, these new couples will embark
on a journey toward matrimony in hopes that they have indeed found their
one true love.
MARRIED BY AMERICA will launch with a three-hour premiere over two
