Synopsis: Set in a Miami hospital, "Nurses"
revolves around a dedicated team of health care professionals who use
humor and a spirit of lighthearted comaraderie to handle the daily life-and-death
pressures of their work.
The series follows a core team of five nurses as they try to balance
demanding work with complicated personal lives. Sandy, a smart, somewhat
bitter divorcee, heads the floor with charge nurse Annie, who's trying
to balance career and family. Greg is the nurse the patients love and
the doctors love to hate. Rookie nurse Julie loves to serve, but has
a phobia about everything from elevators to water fountains, and Gina
is learning the ways of her new homeland, America.
Also on the floor are Dr. Kaplan, one of the few doctors the nurses
respect, and Paco, an orderly who has the best information on the "goings-on"
in the hospital. (Courtesy Touchstone Television 1991)
