Four-time Emmy Award-winner Dennis Franz plays Detective Andy Sipowicz. A widower raising his elementary-school-aged son, Theo, Sipowicz has been through an extraordinary amount of growth and tragedy, including alcoholism, divorce and loss of loved ones. In the fictional 15TH precinct, Sipowicz has become something of a sage.

Emmy-winner Gordon Clapp portrays Detective Greg Medavoy, a man riddled with anxiety over life's obstacles -- but incredibly resilient -- who always finds his way back. His partner Detective Baldwin Jones, played by Henry Simmons, brings an integrity and passion to his character. He is chivalrous and always eager to help a victim of injustice.

Bill Brochtrup portrays public administrative assistant John Irvin, a gentle and compassionate gay man. His character is blessed with an uncanny ability to read other people quickly, and his actions are often motivated by kindness.

Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon portrays Assistant District Attorney Valerie Haywood, a stickler for the letter of the law. She's tough on criminals – and cops who take the law into their own hands.

Charlotte Ross portrays Detective Connie McDowell, a free spirit who is tough as nails. McDowell tries to escape her tortured past by reaching out to a somewhat distant Sipowicz.

Esai Morales returns as Lieutenant Tony Rodriguez, a cop with a wealth of experience, training and knowledge from his days as a narcotics detective in a crime-ridden area of the city. Morales recently won the Alma Award for Best Actor in a Television Series for"NYPD Blue," as well as an Imagen Award recognizing positive Latino portrayals in the media.

Jacqueline Obradors returns as Detective Rita Ortiz, a tough-talking Puerto Rican cop whose former work in vice has left her with a short fuse. And Austin Majors portrays Theo Sipowicz, the sweet and sensitive six-year-old son of Andy Sipowicz. (courtesy ABC Entertainment, 2002)
