Synopsis: From
multi-award winners John Wells (ER,
The West Wing) and Christopher Chulack (ER)
comes this intense drama about the brave and dedicated people who serve
as police, paramedics and firefighters on the "third watch," (the shift
from 3-11 p.m.). For them, keeping the streets safe and answering cries
for help is all in a day’s work.
In its debut season (1999-2000),
Third Watch was nominated for a People’s Choice Award (Best New
Drama Series). It went on to experience year-to-year growth in key categories
during its second season and delivered some of its most-watched episodes
to date during the second half of the 2000-01 season.
The ensemble drama, set
in New York City, stars Michael Beach (ER),
Coby Bell ("Buffy The Vampire Slayer"), Amy Carlson ("Falcone"), Eddie
Cibrian (Sunset Beach), Molly Price ("Pushing Tin"), Kim Raver ("Trinity"),
Anthony Ruivivar ("Starship Troopers"), Skipp Sudduth ("Ronin"), Jason
Wiles ("Beverly Hills, 90210") and Chris Bauer ("61*").
Monte "Doc" Parker (Beach)
and Carlos Nieto (Ruivivar) are a paramedic team, both devoted to the
people they help. "Doc" continues to show the ropes to Carlos, and together
they deal with the daily tragedies, going beyond the call of duty to
help people in the community. Kim Zambrano (Raver) is another young
and tough paramedic, whose ex-husband is firefighter Jimmy Doherty (Cibrian).
His tenacity is contrasted by his reckless personal life. firefighter
Alex Taylor (Carlson), an energetic, courageous woman, joined "Third
Watch" in its second season and keeps Doherty on his toes. From blazing
buildings and car accidents to crime scenes and domestic emergencies,
these unsung heroes are often first on the scene.
Meanwhile, just across
the street, the police of the 55th Precinct check in and out for their
daily tours of duty. Maurice "Bosco" Boscorelli’s (Wiles) glory-hungry
"supercop" mentality annoys his long-suffering partner Faith Yokas (Price),
who is constantly trying to juggle her role as a cop, a mother, and
wife to Fred (Bauer). Bosco’s flashy law enforcement style doesn’t go
over well with the streetwise veteran cop John "Sully" Sullivan (Sudduth)
who wrestles with the assignment of his green, by-the-book partner,
Ty Davis (Bell), the son of his former partner who was killed in the
line of duty.
