TPT Launches Temporary Digital Channel Devoted To Holiday Music
Twin Cities Public Television (TPT) has announced it is launching what it refers to as a "temporary TV channel for holiday music fans."
The channel will broadcast from Dec 19 through the end of the year:
The channel will feature music by Tonic Sol-fa, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and a variety of college choirs from the Twin Cities metro area, including Augsburg College, Concordia College, and Bethel University.
Viewers can find the channel a couple of places. Over-the-air viewers can watch it on digital channel 2-99, and it will also be available on Comcast Cable channels 221 (Minneapolis) and 241 (St. Paul).
It's a clever use of the digital channel, and I'm curious to see if TPT finds other uses for the channel after the first of the year. How about a music-oriented channel focusing on independent national and local artists?
