One Direction’s Niall Horan Interview With Golf Channel

One Direction member Niall Horan joined Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis for an interview talking about his experience this week at the Masters and caddying for World No. 1 Rory McIlroy in the Par-3 Contest on Wednesday. During the interview on "Golf Central Live," he revealed that McIlroy will join One Direction on-stage during their performance at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass., this summer, the same week as the Deutsche Bank Championship.

Niall Horan: "It was ridiculous to even be here at Augusta. It is insane.  Obviously being friends with Rory, and Rory asking me at the end of last year to go on the bag with him at the par 3, it was special. When the world No.1 tells you to go on the bag, you go. It is amazing to be here, and that experience was overwhelming  really.

Todd Lewis: "How did the relationship between you and Rory develop?"

Horan: "We have quite a few mutual friends from around the golf business. People that I know within the industry. We met about three or four years ago. We have become good friends.  That is how it came about."

Lewis: "What does golf mean to you?"

Horan: "A lot. I have been playing since I was about 10 or 11 years old. I was a little later than some of these guys out here that have natural talent. I love golf, and it is definitely one of my favorite sports."

Lewis: "You put your golf swing on public display on the par 3. Has Rory ever stepped up to the mic and did some singing?"

Horan: "No but that was part of the deal. If I went on the bag with him he would come on stage and sing with us. He is playing in the Deutsche Bank in Boston at the end of the summer, and we are playing in Gillette Stadium in Foxboro the same week."

Lewis: "Is this dancing included?"

Horan: "Just singing. He is allowed to pick the song. If he's able pick the song, then he is going to do it."

Lewis: "Have you heard him sing before?"

Horan: "No, but apparently he’s terrible."
