CNN and Bleacher Report To Provide In-Depth Coverage Live From Super Bowl Boulevard

For the second consecutive year, Turner Broadcasting’s CNN and Bleacher Report will provide comprehensive, on-site coverage of Super Bowl XLVIII as the most trusted source for news and leading sports digital destination report live from Super Bowl Boulevard throughout the week. Beginning Friday and continuing through Monday, February 3, CNN will produce live reports from Super Bowl Boulevard in New York and MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, as well as broadcast  in-depth specials that explore the Super Bowl as a cultural phenomenon and cover all angles of America’s other favorite national pastime. CNN and Bleacher Report will produce more than 50 hours of programming, including live hits and various special reports, to provide continuous coverage across CNN, HLN, CNN.com, BleacherReport.com and the Team Stream mobile and tablet app to deliver insightful news and analysis leading up to and through the big game.

CNN will feature live hourly reports about the Super Bowl through Monday, February 3rd across its worldwide networks. In addition, themed programming highlights include:

 

Friday, January 31:

6a-9a ET – CNN’s John Berman will be live on New Day, reporting from Super Bowl Boulevard with special guests previewing the big game and taking viewers behind the scenes to special events.

10:30p ET/PT – A special Unguarded with Rachel Nichols who will be joined by football greats John Elway, Deion Sanders and Emmitt Smith.

 

Saturday, February 1: 

9:30a and 2:00p ET - Special editions of Your Money: Big Game, Big Business on-location at Super Bowl Boulevard. Romans and the Your Money team dig deep into the business of the big game, those unforgettable, but costly commercials, interviews with current and former NFL players and the dollars and cents behind bringing the most spectacular event in professional sports to the New York/New Jersey area.

4:00 p.m. ET - CNN will broadcast an hour-long special, Bleacher Report on Super Bowl Boulevard. Co-hosted by CNN’s Rachel Nichols and Arizona Cardinal and eight-time Pro Bowl receiver Larry Fitzgerald, the show will include a series of features, interviews and profiles that capture the excitement the marquee event brings to the city. Turner Sports will produce the special, with CNN’s Nischelle Turner and Bleacher Report’s Reese Waters reporting.


In addition, CNN anchors Brooke Baldwin and Don Lemon contribute to CNN's coverage live on location, and HLN anchor Mike Galanos and meteorologist Bob Van Dillen contribute to HLN's. Online, HLNtv.com will highlight all things pigskin from the ads and celebrity to the food.

Bleacher Report will provide wide-ranging coverage of the game, its players, key storylines, and much more, with its core staff of professional football Lead Writers reporting live from New York City. Planned coverage highlights throughout the week include a big game-themed edition of Mike Freeman’s Ten Point Stance NFL® Notebook, expert game film analysis from Matt Bowen, a former NFL safety, an in-depth look at player injuries and potential risks from Sports Injury Lead Writer Will Carroll.
