Dayton Weatherman Tells 'Bachelorette' Fans To Stop Complaining About Tornado Warnings

Television meteorologists are accustomed to hearing complaints from viewers any time their favorite show is interrupted by a weather bulletin. But when viewers complained after Monday night's episode of "The Bachelorette" was interrupted by a severe weather update, Dayton, Ohio meteorologist Jamie Simpson decided he'd had enough. The update warned of ongoing tornado warnings and several tornadoes did do substantial damage in the area.

So during one update, Simpson decided to tell the viewers how he felt:

"Viewers are complaining already, ‘Just go back to the show.’ No. We’re not going back to the show folks," Simpson said on air. "This is a dangerous situation, OK? Think about if it was your neighborhood. I’m sick and tired of people complaining about this. Our job here is to keep people safe and that’s what we’re going to do. Some people complaining that it’s all about my ego – stop. Just stop right now. It’s not. I’m done with you people. I really am. This is pathetic."

He later apologized for his outburst, but went on to say that these types of warnings can be lifesaving and it is the responsibility of the station to help protect the lives and safety of its viewers.
