Study: Fortnite Users Spend Less Time On Other Media

This won't be a surprise to anyone with a teenager, but a new study from NRG finds that Fortnite players spend 21 percent of their free time with the game as well as less time with other media. 

Fortnite was launched in June 2017 and since then its combination of battle games and ways to just kill time with friends has made it a global phenomenon. In May, it had 250 million active players and more than $2.4 billion in annual revenue. And it's most popular with teens. The National Research Group study shows that 53 percent of respondents ages 10 to 12 play Fortnite weekly. The game has become so popular with teens that some users have complained about being bullied in real life over the game.
