President Trump Randomly Claims 'Hollywood Is Racist'

While we don't frequently cover comments by President Trump, his remarks during an informal gathering with reporters on Friday merits a mention.

The President answered a few questions outside the White House and vowed to support background checks for gun sales. He also claimed there was "tremendous" support in Congress for them, before somewhat randomly attacking Hollywood.

In a response to a question about Twitter, he first seemed to reference the social media company before unexpectedly pivoting to Hollywood. "We’re going to be very tough with them. They’re treating conservatives very unfairly," Trump said. "Hollywood, I don’t call them the elites. I think the elites are people that go after them in many cases but Hollywood is really terrible."

He then continued his attack on Hollywood, seemingly out of context to the previous question.

"Hollywood is racist," Trump said. "What they’re doing with the kind of movies they’re putting out, it’s actually very dangerous for our country. What Hollywood is doing is a tremendous disservice to our country."
